Believe it or not, we've already got big plans for March ... that will be our 8th issue, completing our second year of publishing The Voice of Valor.  And we couldn't have done it without YOU... our readers and especially our writers.

We are just finishing up the printing our Christmas issue!  A digital copy should be up before the weekend, and print copies in your mail boxes early next week.  Thanks for your patience and support.  Here is a quick peek at the cover image for the December issue.

Back at it!

So ... school is well underway and everyone is pretty much back into the whole academic routine, right?  Great!  That means you're ready to write.  And we're looking for some great pieces for our next issue of The Voice of Valor.  We've still got openings for some of the regular columns, and of course we are looking for submissions for our Young Authors Today section.  Maybe you've already written an essay or poem  for school that you'd like to share.  Maybe you've been pondering a story or creative piece.  Or maybe you're more of a reader than a writer ... then let us know what you think about what you've read in our previous issues by sending a letter to the editor or readers response.  Whatever you've got to share, ... send it!  We'd love to help you get it published and read by others. 

Some of you may prefer to drawing to writing.  Great!  We're always looking for artists to illustrate stories for the magazine.  We've got stories ready and waiting for illustration ... so let us know!

Our latest newsletter will be out soon with specific details of what we can use ...watch for that.  But in the meantime feel free to contact us directly if you'd like to be involved with the new issue.

It's Almost Time!

We made it!

24 hours ...

... yes, 24 hours.  We think we're within that amount of time before the new magazine is ready for readers.  It is getting a final proof-reading at this very moment.  Then a few quick edits (we hope!) and it will be off to the press ... and, God-willing, online and in the mail on Tuesday 6/11.  Thanks again for your patience.

We're getting there!

Now that exams and report cards are pretty much behind us all, we are back at work on the magazine.  As of today we have the issue approximately 2/3 of the way rebuilt.  Pray that we continue to have extra time to finish it.  With God's help, we hope to have it online possibly  by Monday.  We can't wait to share it with readers, and REALLY appreciate your patience!

Not just in the details...

You know that saying about the devil being in the details?  Well, around here he is more than just in details; somehow, he got into our server!  We regret to tell you that our June issue ... just a click or two away from print and publication, was somehow deleted from the server where it is stored!  Needless to say, this was a shock to staff members who went looking for it to print yesterday.  Despite a frantic search, and without any reasonable explanation, the document has completely vanished.  Thankfully we still have all the submissions and artwork, and can re-build the magazine.  But it means we'll be well behind our June 1st publication date.  At the moment, we're hoping to be ready by June 8th ... but it might be later yet, as many of our staff members are dealing with final exams and graduation/end of year activities.  We'll do our best ... but pray for us!!

And, really, it must be a good sign.  If the devil hates our magazine enough to create such problems, then we must be doing something good!  Blessed be God!

Did you know G. K.Chesterton pointed out that the state usurps the authority of the family by compulsory state-sponsored education. "The state has more authority over man by sending him to a public school than it had when it burned men at the stake." 

Also, he showed how it is a step down for women when they claim equality with men. "Their God-given role of motherhood is irreplaceable. Men are specialists, but women have a general and uniting role as mothers. Inside the home is where the real drama of life is played out. If you take the women out of the home, you destroy the family."

Crazy Busy!

We know, we know... it's been a whole MONTH since we've posted anything on the blog.  Not from lack of interest though ... just lack of time.  Where does it disappear to at this time of year?

Good news, though, is that we're getting the June issue ready for publication in two weeks.  Layout is underway and proofreading will follow soon.  Pray all goes well and that we have the magazine online and in print according to schedule.

Lent has come to its glorious conclusion in the feast of Easter.  We hope you found the ideas and thoughts in our March issue helpful during the season of penance.  We're busy working on the June issue ... about summer and life plans once school is done.  Watch for a new survey and also an updated newsletter to be available soon, too!

Approaching 3000!

That's right ... our page has had nearly 3000 views!  Thanks to all our readers and our authors and staff, too.  We're busy working on our anniversary issue, due in June.  Watch for our new survey coming soon, too!

In the meantime, in honor of Holy Week, and Palm Sunday in particular, we'll post this well-known poem of G.K. Chesterton:

This issue marks the completion of our first full year of publication!  Thanks to all readers and writers who have helped us reach this milestone ...  we hope for more good things to come!

Just a little longer...

We have had a few unexpected little details to deal with before getting the latest issue to readers.... things like sick staff members and equipment changes (major ones!) at the printer.  But nothing that will take too terribly long, we hope.  Stay tuned for the March issue in just a couple more days!

Only days away ...

Our new issues is just days away from publication!  Copies are in the hands of our proof readers now, and we hope to have the issue ready before the end of the weekend.  Say a prayer for that intention ...
