This week we'll be putting the final touches on our December issue, which is all about "New Beginnings" ... an appropriate idea as we approach Advent, the Church's New Year ... and just a month after that, the civil New Year.  With a little luck we'll be able to post the cover image soon, for you to enjoy while the contents inside are being checked over by our proof readers.  Stay tuned!

Better Late Than Never ... Right?

Did you notice that we forgot to change the blog page to match the new issue colors? We didn't! Not until today, that is. SO ... now its done! Better late than never... Its a dark look this time. Dark to reflect the attraction that evil plays in our world, trying to draw souls away from the LIGHT that is Christ. Dark, to represent sorrow for sin. But the darkness will not last! Evil will not win! Read the new issue ... be a part of the return to LIGHT!!

That's when you'll see the new issue online.  We hope you like it.  It's the start of our 3rd year for The Voice of Valor.  Thanks to those who have stuck with us since the start ... readers, writers, and supporters!

A DIfficult Decision

As we were putting together the current issue, we just couldn't come up with a cover image.  We were down to the wire ... it was literally time to print the proof reader's copy and we had no ideas!  Just before printing, we put together a cover, and sent the magazine off.  While our good proof readers were looking over the magazine, we took time for a photo shoot and came up with another cover.  That's when the problems started ...

The proof readers LIKED the "last minute" cover design!  And the photo shoot crew PREFERRED the new image.  What to do?  We took it to a vote...

Over the weekend we asked everyone we saw, and on Monday asked students at school.  At the end of the day, the result was .... a tie!  Exactly 21 votes per image!  So ... we waited until Tuesday and asked 3 people we hadn't seen the day before.  

Surprisingly, all 3 voted for the original cover image!  And that was this one...

But since we had so much fun putting together the photo shoot, we thought we'd share what the 2nd one ... just so you see it.

5000 and counting!

Our blog and magazine have had 5010 hits as of today!  That's a milestone!  When we published the first issue less than 2 years ago, we certainly weren't expecting so much interest. Thanks to all our readers online, and to those who subscribe to our print magazine. 

 The war of good vs evil needs the valorous effort of every warrior possible... we welcome your support and your contributions to our magazine.  Please promote our magazine to your friends and family, and pray that we can keep up this effort to promote the Faith to teens, by teens! 

Limericks

...you know what those are, don't you?  Funny 5-lined poems like this one:

There was a young lady of Niger
Who smiled as she rode on a tiger;
They returned from the ride
With the lady inside,
And the smile on the face of the tiger.

Lines 1, 2, and 5 rhyme and have about 9 syllables
Lines 3 and 4 rhyme and have about 6 syllables
They are usually about a person (who is mentioned in the first line) and they are supposed to be humorous.  

So ... why the poetry lesson, you may be asking?  Well ... because we'd like to include a few original limericks in our March issue.  Want to try your hand at writing one or two?  Go ahead!  Get your family and friends to try, too.  Then send us the ones you like best and watch to see if they appear in our next issue!  Start now ... what are you waiting for!  You can email them to us at:
